On this day in 1941 Robert Zimmerman was born.  This man came to be one of the greatest songwriters of all time and in any genre of music.  Happy 68th B-day Bob Dylan!  And "...there was music in the cafes at night and revolution in the air."

I have just written an Impulsive Review of Terminator:  Salvation.

The landscapes, innovative inventions, nightmarish terminators, and ragged resistance fighters in this movie pull you along for a thrilling ride

This is taken off of www.BobDylan.com, the songwriter's official site:

Thanks to you, "Together Through Life" Debuts at #1 in U.S. and U.K. Thanks to Bob Dylan fans around the world!

Bob Dylan's new album, Together Through Life, has entered both the U.S. and UK album charts at #1, marking the artist’s second consecutive U.S. #1 debut and his first chart-topping release in the UK since New Morning in 1970. Together Through Life is a true international hit, as well, achieving #1 debuts in Austria and Denmark, Top 5 entries in Australia, Germany, Ireland, Holland, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden and New Zealand, and Top 10 rankings in Italy, France and Belgium.

See the True Blood Trailer in the Videos Section to listen to music from the fabled album!

I have two new pieces that have been published in the Elements magazine.  Stay Tuned as I post them (in the upcoming hours) in the Publications Section.

While I awoke, after a long and fantastic night, at sometime shortly after eleven a.m.  Being behind in my feeding schedule I hastily made a brief breakfast.  That was to hold me over as I made a rather large elevenses meal.  I took to my arduous task while playing Bob Dylan's 1964 concert, which began with "The Times They Are A Changin.'" With the tunes in the background I then proceeded to do something I had not attempted since I last cooked it and set it on fire:  I fried bacon.  I read T.S.Eliot as I cooked and ate, naturally.  After the bacon was done I then scrambled eggs with ham and (with my secret recipe) put them in the bacon fat.  I made toast, again with no fire, I poured orange juice and made a cup of dark Colombian coffee to top it all off.
"The Chair she sat in, like a burnished throne, Glowed on the marble, where the glass Held up by standards wrought with fruited vines From which a golden Cupidon peeped out (Another hid his eyes behind his wing) Doubled the flames of sevenbranched candelabra Reflecting light upon the table as The glitter of her jewels rose to meet it, From satin cases poured in rich profusion." I read this and ate (T.S. Eliot, "The Waste Land," Lines 77-85).  Now my thoughts turn to lunch...

Well apparently if you have never been chased by a swan before, and I have not, then you might not know that these graceful birds are among the most territorial and blood thirsty creatures ever observed.  As I rested/read/wrote on the beach outside my place yesterday, I had the sh%t scared out of me as two swans fishing in the bay were bombarded by one fierce swan who had laid claim to the lands before me, squawked an ungodly noise and flew at the pair with it's wings flapping madly!  I recounted these events in the Poetry Section.

I have a new Impulsive Review of X-Men Origins:  Wolverine you have to see (and if you have not caught it yet Star Trek):

"...the bastardization of some of my favorite fictional characters nearing the end of this movie absolutely ruined the experience..."

I would like to wish a (belated) Happy Birthday to Dan D., Antdawg, and RoseAnn and an early Happy Birthday to Cole!

HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY MOM!

Make sure you check out the Impulsive Review of Star Trek:

"Sensationally sexy..."

"Star Trek
the movie is a rebirth of the franchise directed and babied by the infamous and ingenious LOST creator/writer J.J. Abrams..."
